ARCH is thrilled to unveil the inaugural phase of a thrilling endeavour with the power to revolutionise the supply chain and logistics sector in East Africa, with the official opening of our Tatu City Facility in Nairobi, Kenya.
The facility entailed the construction of a c.18,000 Gross Building Area square meter, state-of-the-art temperature-controlled facility, on a 6-acre greenfield site within the Tatu City Special Economic Zone. With sustainability at the forefront of construction, the facility is built to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Standard, aiming for a LEED Gold Certification and making it the first warehouse with LEED Gold Certificate in Africa.
This initiative is a testament to our dedication to innovation, sustainability, and our profound commitment to supporting our local communities and the entire region. Our vision and aspiration to establish a fully integrated cold chain network throughout East Africa, with our facilities serving as the dynamic epicentre of a transformative logistics revolution that spans various sectors, made a significant stride forward to reducing food wastage, ensuring quality, and supporting the growth of businesses across East Africa.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners in Kenya, Mitchell Cotts, under the leadership of Andrew Ndegwa, Patrick Mugambi, and Daniel Tanui, for their belief in our vision and their confidence in our joint execution of this endeavour, as well as to all of our Investors, for trusting ARCH to be stewards of their capital and for their commitment to improving the state of infrastructure in East Africa and change countless lives.
As we now look to initiate construction in other East African countries such Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania, we are excited to witness the transformation of the region and to be proud participants in the change that East Africa deserves.
